Now Playing... Dissect Season 2

Podcasts are something I never thought I had an interest for, until i stumbled across them in Spotify while searching for new music to listen to. Like browsing Netflix, it took me a good while to decide what I wanted to listen to because of the vast diversity Spotify offered in terms of podcasts, however after I finally settled on "Dissect", a music based podcast where host Cole Cuchna, every season "dissects" an album song by song, line by line. Season 2 which i'm currently listening to, is focused on Kanye West and his album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy", discussing his rise and fall from fame. Cole Cuchna, the host covers not only the music of Kanye but his life and his drive to be a superstar from a young age. What I find so entertaining about podcasts in general is that it's a different way of consuming audio entertainment, if there's no new music for me to listen to or i'm sick of listening to the same stuff, no two po

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Renewed On May 10th 2018 Fox canceled the five season old cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, although the show had an average year for viewership the show had become a favourite for many online tv fans. The NBC have renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine for season 6 saving the rapid fire sense of humour cop comedy and giving it a chance to end the series and viewers the chance to get what they deserve. The number of shows thad have been dropped has lead to the discussion about what leads to a TV show being successful. Recently many shows with "good" ratings have been dropped while others that may not see those numbers have been renewed. Many believe that the times at which they air and the shows main audience play a part in wether a show will be renewed. Overall the success of a show has changed dramatically overtime and now the ratings and viewership are not all that play part in wether a TV show will be renewed by a network.

NETFLIX RENEWAL NEWS - Lost In Space. News has just be released that the explosive new 'Lost in Space', has been renewed for a second series following the mixed reviews of its first season. Just like previously reviewed Dynasty, Netflix's Lost in Space is a remake of a popular 1960's movie by the same name.  In positive news, the show's big names - Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Parker Posey and Ignacio Serricchio - don't have any upcoming projects officially  on their slate. Thus, if the scripts are completed in the near future, the filming could begin almost immediately - which could bring season 2 forward somewhat.  However,  Filming on the first season took around seven months and then there's post-production, including the impressive CG work, which adds another few months. At best, we could expect to see a second season towards the end of 2019 or, more likely, April 2020. However, the show is uninspiring to say the least, poor production

NETFLIX REVIEW - Dynasty Currently in its second season, new-to-Netflix Dynasty is an unashamed, wishy-washy, soap juggernaut of the 1980's family-themed show: Dynasty. While you might be wary of a remake of a popular show simply ruining the experience and memory for some, through lacklustre directing and unimaginative cinematography Netflix's Dynasty re-imagines the contemporary characters with an exciting and invigorating story-line.  Along with a switch from Denver to Atlanta, up and coming director Raeside has injected a serious dosage of acting talent into the show, especially though a shift in the Colby's to African-American and the Cristal's to Latin-American. Whilst the enticing and imaginative set production will leave you in wonder, the experimental cinematography will leave you desperate for more. The show's first episode leaves nothing left to be desired - packed full of explosions, shrouded in mystery and dripping in sex-appeal - loyal fans

My Personal Experience With Discord

Image
Personally, I greatly enjoy using applications such as discord as they allow for a more intimate and easier way of online communications, as we can talk about anything we want anytime we want. I use currently use discord a large amount to catch up with friends when we don’t have the time to see each other to talk while we play games or if we’re just bored and want to talk with each other. To be honest, my friends and I have used discord so extensively we’ve come to a point where we’re reliant on it to communicate with each other and maintain our friendship. Discord as whole in my opinion is a very effective way to form close friendships and relationships and is a good way to tackle the issue of being able to meet up with friends constantly due to busy schedules.

New on Netflix - Collateral. Just another crime thriller, or damaging political drama? In the opening scenes, Collateral might just be another crime thriller to join the already packed ranks of Netflix's mediocre new mini-series'. However, following the lacklustre introduction, acclaimed playwright David Hare delves into the hot-bed political climate of contemporary Britain, even taking a shot at the US led war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fortunately, unlike its uninspiring neighbours, Collateral develops far beyond a simple 'whodunit', as the show begins to capture the killer mindset and circumstances that developed the crime. Hare is able to cleverly relate to the misapplied approach to immigration policy of the British parliament and the ensuing waves of racism and xenophobia. Furthermore, Hare is able to stretch his theatrical muscles in the second half of the season, as tension is found, dripping out of two characters talking, palpable to a killer stalki
Brooklyn Nine-Nine UPDATE.  Brooklyn nine-nine fans have gone through a roller-coaster of emotions this week in regards to the future of the show following the upcoming season 5. Despite the show maintaining a strong core of loyal fans, amongst newfound binger's joining the ranks every day - it doesn't look good for the show, following a devastating bombshell posted on the Variety twitter page just three hours ago. The saga began on Thursday (10/05/18) when Fox broke the news that the show was being cancelled from airing a possible Season 6, despite the shows widespread support. Fans were obviously outraged with the news Jake Peralta might not be returning to their screens and took to twitter to vent their frustrations; including Alison Wonderland "Cancelling Brooklyn nine nine is like cancelling cheeseburgers" and James O'Neil "May 10, 2018. The day America died. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been cancelled." Obviously they weren't taking the news wel

The Success Of Skype and Discord

Image
In looking specifically at social networking applications such as Skype and discord, they allow people to form and maintain strong bonds within friendships and relationships, despite being unable to meet up with each other or talking face to face consistently. Overall, these sites just make communication with friend much more convenient and intimate. In the current world, people are too busy to be meeting up constantly, unlike before so a need for applications such as Skype and Discord became apparent as just messaging people sometimes isn’t enough and seeing someone’s face or hearing their voice is what is needed to properly interact with each other. As a whole, Skype and Discord are so successful in connecting people due to their convenience and use of video and voice chatting, although other social networking sites such as Facebook have also implemented a similar tool in which people can call and talk over Facebook chats.

Social Media and it's Impact on Inspiration.

For the past four years, I've been flying drones non-stop. I love the feeling of being immersed within the drone in a first person view to replicate the feeling of flying. YouTube has been a big part of my consistency when it comes to flying. The ability to wack a camera of the front of these drones, push record and show it to the world online is amazing. This is where the inspiration to keep flying, trying harder and harder maneuvers and tricks is found. Channels like Mr. Steele, FliteTest & Rotor Riot are just a few of the drone related channels that have pushed me to keep flying and also start up my own channel, only posting videos every so often to show my progress. My YouTube channel is Callum Macdermid. Check out my favourite flight so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv8thXSmdCc

Social Media And Its Benefits

Image
Social media as a whole has allowed for people to become more intertwined and interconnected and has created a wide network of friendship and companionship globally. The way social networking sites allow people to form friendships and relationships regardless of people’s location and availability is why I especially appreciate social media. Sites such as discord and Skype allow people to communicate and share ideas and experiences in many creative ways; whether it is by sending a picture about something we thought was funny through a chat message in our group, or having a group voice chat about how university is going for us. Facebook is another site that has an available video and voice chat long with a wide array of posting options, and messaging tools. Overall, social media sites are a very successful way of bringing people together in a world where people are busy and unable to properly meet.

Youtube- Dustin Williams

Image
Youtube- Dustin Williams Dustin Williams is a content creator on YouTube and has established a channel based around his car and other project cars he has started. Recently his WRX had been in an accident and may be un-road worthy forcing him to part ways with his dream car and what has been the main focus of his channel. Although he has other cars and projects he is working on the loss of such a large piece of his channel could lead to a decrease in interest for some viewers. The path his content will take in the future is uncertain, as he now has to decide on what his future content will focus on. The loss of such a large part of the channel could lead to a decrease in overall views and being a large part of his income he will now have to search for new ways to keep viewers entertained. In doing so this can open up more options for his future content and chances to bring in new viewers with something that is new and exciting.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Brooklyn Nine-Nine is an American police television sitcom that follows the story of Jake Peralta, an immature and carefree cop. The show, since its debut, has won two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Season 4 Overview Season 4 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine picks up with Jake Peralta and Captain Holt being placed in witness protection as the 99 th Precinct try to take down the mob boss Figgis. The season then progresses into developing the relationships between its characters and their partners but also builds up to the end of season cliff-hanger as Jake and Rosa compete for a spot of Lt. Hawkin’s task force but find out that she isn’t who they expected her to be. Fans of the show started to worry after the Season 4 cliff-haner when the show wasn’t immediately renewed for another season and some speculated that it would be dropped from the network and left without a resolution. It was later renewed and the show is now well int
