The 100: Renewed for Season 6

THE 100 RENEWED FOR SEASON 6.

Just as the debut episode of Season 5 of the 100 is getting released, The CW Network has renewed the series for a sixth season. This comes just days after the CW announced the renewal of 10 other CW series; Riverdale, Supernatural, Arrow, Black Lightning, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Supergirl etc. foreshadowing an exciting and dramatic television experience for 2019.

The 100 is a science fiction thriller set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, following a band of teenage survivors attempting to uncover the cause of the devastation, rebuild life as they knew it on earth, and survive against the myriad threats that present themselves - not exactly a new concept. However,  despite the use of the best science fiction and apocalyptic cliches, once you immerse yourself in a few episodes, you become deeply invested in the character in a way I've never witnessed before. For the most part, these are all unknown actors - breaking out into their first big television roles and undoubtedly give all excellent performances. Furthermore, don't let the poor marketing and cheesy trailer fool you, this isn't just another soapy teen take on sci-fi, the 100 is as gritty and unforgiving as shows go, despite the inexperienced cast.

The sharply defined conflicts, lively drama and complicated deeply developed character lines, where evil isn't always bad and good isn't always who you want to be, make the 100 a must-binge for 2018 whenever you get the time, as season 5 is hyped to be the best yet, with season 6 sure to challenge that title come 2019.
