Brooklyn Nine-Nine UPDATE. 

Brooklyn nine-nine fans have gone through a roller-coaster of emotions this week in regards to the future of the show following the upcoming season 5. Despite the show maintaining a strong core of loyal fans, amongst newfound binger's joining the ranks every day - it doesn't look good for the show, following a devastating bombshell posted on the Variety twitter page just three hours ago.

The saga began on Thursday (10/05/18) when Fox broke the news that the show was being cancelled from airing a possible Season 6, despite the shows widespread support. Fans were obviously outraged with the news Jake Peralta might not be returning to their screens and took to twitter to vent their frustrations; including Alison Wonderland "Cancelling Brooklyn nine nine is like cancelling cheeseburgers" and James O'Neil "May 10, 2018. The day America died. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been cancelled." Obviously they weren't taking the news well, as the story rose to the #1 trending topic on twitter in 3 hours.

However, a potential saviour arose from this ostensibly devastating scene as Deadline.com broke the story that Hulu were potentially going to pick up the comedy series from its apparent ashes. A Hulu deal would mirror the streaming platform's pickup of another comedy The Mindy Project, which moved to Hulu after three seasons on Fox. Both Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project are produced by Universal TV - so the companies already have a deal template in place. With this incredible news, a glimmer of hope appeared among die hard fans, that today might not be the end of America as we know it.

However. Variety have recently broke the news that a Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Hulu deal will not come to fruition. And with that, it is looking increasingly unlikely that the show will be returning to our screens for a 6th series.
